Guard What God Gave You

This powerful message takes us into Joshua chapter 23, where we find ourselves standing at a critical crossroads in our spiritual journey. The Israelites have finally arrived—they're no longer wandering, no longer fighting to reach the Promised Land. They're standing in it. Yet Joshua gathers them for what might be the most important conversation of their lives: a warning not to lose what God has already given them. We discover that receiving God's blessings is one thing, but keeping them requires intentional faithfulness. The sermon challenges us with a penetrating question: Will we guard what God has restored in our lives? Through the imagery of a turkey call—a deceptive trap that lures its prey with false promises—we're confronted with the reality that the enemy uses familiar temptations to draw us back to what once bound us. The message isn't about God's faithfulness being in question; it's about our faithfulness with what He's entrusted to us. We're reminded that going back isn't just a mistake—it's a contradiction of who we've become in Christ. What once satisfied us will never fulfill us the same way again because we've been transformed. This isn't legalism; it's love. When we truly love God, we intentionally invest in that relationship through prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience—not to earn His love, but because we cherish what we have with Him.
